“…the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee:

they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day:

the father to the children shall make known thy truth.”

Isaiah 38:18,19

“Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another:

and the LORD hearkened, and heard it,

and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD,

and that thought upon his name.

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day

when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return,

and discern between the righteous and the wicked,

between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.”

Malachi 3:16 - 18

December 2011

Quite often I come across Israelites quoting from the Book of Daniel.  And while wondering why, when I find this book so confusing, my thoughts turned to the image Daniel said he had seen in a vision.

I have always claimed that the Book of Daniel raises questions and is not a WORK of the GOD of Israel but of man.  And now, I have even greater reason to believe that this book is nothing more than absolute fraud through and through, and that it is even associated with the “New Testament”.

Since the days of Jacob, Israelites have worshipped idols, and since the days of Jacob, the GOD of Israel has warned us scores of times to take heed and obey HIS WORD and to worship ONLY HIM.

“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;”   Exodus 20:4,5

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

“Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.”   Leviticus 19:1,4

“Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee. For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger: I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed. And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you. And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.”   Deuteronomy 4:23 – 28

“Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.”   Deuteronomy 11:16,17

“Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God. When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.”   Deuteronomy 12:28 – 30

“Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them, And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them. My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.”   Ezekiel 16:17 – 19

“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”   Isaiah 42:8

Why was (and still is) Our GOD of Israel so determined to warn us about making false gods/images/idols and serving them?  In that Our GOD has great foresight, wouldn’t HE know that if we built an idol that we would be tempted to worship it – even if it were made by the hands of man?

Consider the fiery serpent GOD had Moses to make and set upon a pole for everyone who had been bitten by “serpents” would look upon it and live.

“And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.”   Numbers 21:5 – 9

Years later, if you can believe it, wicked idol-worshipping Israelites burned incense to this image of the fiery serpent.

“He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.”   II Kings 18:4

Given all that the JEALOUS CREATOR GOD of Israel has said about NOT constructing false gods, not worshipping false gods, and not bowing down to them, would it make any sense at all for HIM to give Daniel a vision about an idol and then have him interpret a dream about it?  Consider how Nebuchadnezzar built an image because of his dream and because of Daniel’s vision, and then think on the WORD of GOD, which speaks against such idolatry.

“Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.”   Daniel 2:3 - 33

Needless to say that after Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, this Babylonian King had the nerve to build an Idol to replicate his dream, and then he had people to worship it.  Given all the instances that raise questions in the Book of Daniel, the dream and vision of this image speaks volumes.

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.”   Daniel 3:1 – 6

It is GOD’s own WORDS that prove this Book of Daniel to be another phony work of man that deceives the very “Elect” just as does the “New Testament”.  Keep in mind the reason for this 70-year captivity and pay close attention to what GOD told the Judahites to do when they entered Babylon.

“And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear. They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever: And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt. Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words, Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations. Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.”   Jeremiah 25:4 – 11

“And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand. Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:”   Jeremiah 27:8,9

“I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live. Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon? Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you. For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you. Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD's house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you. Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?”   Jeremiah 27:12 – 17

“And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.”   Jeremiah 40:9

If the GOD of Israel said it would be well with the Israelites in Babylon, then having to worry about being cast into a fiery furnace and into a lion’s den is obviously contrived!

“Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon; Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them; Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished. And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

“For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.”   Jeremiah 29:4 – 7,28

GOD’s WORD speaks of “Peace” in Babylon during the days of their 70-year captivity.  And according to GOD’s true Prophet, the Israelites had nothing to fear in Babylon.  Hence, the Book of Daniel leads us to believe contrary to GOD’s WORD.  Actually, the truth of the matter is that the Judahites loved Babylonian life so much that less than half of them returned to the Land of Israel after their captivity.  If that does not seem feasible, then consider the fact that many Israelites today, who live in the United States, also have no plans to return to our heritage.

If we did not have GOD’s WORD, we would have no wisdom and knowledge to discern right from wrong and to know Truth.  I love relying on GOD’s WORD, and the reason is that within HIS WORD are many revelations, and regarding Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and Daniel’s interpretation of it are no exception.  However, the revelation in GOD’s WORD denounces even the mention of an image, and building one is completely out of the question.

“And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.”  Exodus 23:13

Considering GOD’s WORD concerning how much HE detests the worship of idols and considering how the Judahites are in fact in Babylon serving out a 70-year captivity, it is wisdom to know that the JEALOUS GOD of Israel would not use and image in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and much less HIS Prophet to present an interpretation of it. Just in case people don’t fully understand GOD’s jealousy of idols and images and HIS First Commandment to have no other gods before HIM, then contemplate the following verses:

“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;”   Exodus 34:14,15

“Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.”   Deuteronomy 13:4 – 9

“Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me. I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.”   Hosea 13:4,5

So, now, those of you who feel the Book of Daniel is a work of GOD, then explain why the CREATOR GOD of Israel would use an idol to interpret HIS WORD.

Just to add to the mysteries and confusion in the Book of Daniel, understand that given what’s written therein, Daniel cannot be called a prophet because nowhere is it written in this book or in any other book that GOD speaks to HIM.  The communication between GOD and Daniel is all assumed and taken for granted.  Knowing and understanding the WORD of GOD, it is imperative we realize that what’s written in the LAW completely destroys this Book of Daniel.

Unlike Daniel’s visions, we know for a fact that Joseph’s were manifest by the GOD of Israel and for good reason even from the time he shared with his father and brothers about their sheaves making obeisance to his sheaf (Genesis 37:7).  Joseph’s vision proved to also have merit, and the reason is that his dream resulted in his release from prison, resulted in his being ruler second to Pharaoh, resulted in his eventual reunion with his father and all his family, and resulted in a place in Goshen, Egypt until the Children of Israel became a Mighty Nation.

Daniel’s visions panned out to be nothing more than a poor copy of the efforts of Joseph (Genesis 40th and 41st Chapters), that turned out to be nothing more than the imaginations of his heart, which is what happens when men (and women) use their own ideals to make up stories.  The wise know that if the ACTS are not of GOD’s HAND, then for sure, the works of man will prove to be deceptive and confusing and lies about the True and Living GOD, just as what has happened in this Book of Daniel.  The writers of Daniel’s escapades had another agenda in mind, but just as we can see through the “New testament”, we can also see through this Book of Daniel.

“For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.”   Jeremiah 29:8 – 10

So, after the 70-year captivity, why didn’t Daniel return, according to GOD’s WORD?

“The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me [Moses]; unto him ye shall hearken;”   Deuteronomy 18:1

Daniel was not from the midst of the Israelite brethren, and the reason being is that no one knew about Daniel but Daniel.  The ones who should have spoken of him, namely Haggai, Era, and Nehemiah, didn’t, and to their credit, they did not mention Nebuchadnezzar’s idol or these unfounded “seventy weeks” in this Book of Daniel.

If Daniel were a prophet, then what purpose did he serve?  As you will see, Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams, the days, and the years calculated throughout this book do not reflect upon obedience and keeping GOD’s LAW or HIS WORD in preparation for Judah’s return after the 70-year captivity.  And for Daniel to be given the name of a false god, Belteshazzar, only makes the Book of Daniel that much more suspect.  If Our GOD of Israel wants us to live HIS LAWS and understand them, HE won’t use heathenish ways to teach us of HIS Walk of Life, and HE certainly won’t use visions of idols.  Now, as much as the GOD of Israel has Commanded against idolatry and detests images and idols, would HE have HIS Prophet, a leader in Israel, flaunt the name of an idol and have us learn something from this book?

“But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying, O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

“Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.”   Daniel 4:8,9,19

More importantly, it is really the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah that prove the Book of Daniel to be a complete farce.  Neither Ezra nor Nehemiah make mention of Daniel being involved in the return to Jerusalem, and Daniel makes no mention of it either.  Now, that surely is a mystery to us all.

Daniel’s interpretations were far from being a secret.

“That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

“But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.”   Daniel 2:18,30

The GOD of Israel did not keep secrets from HIS People, and Daniel should have known that HE had already told Jeremiah about Nebuchnezzar and his fall.

“Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.”   Isaiah 42:9

“And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him. And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.”   Jeremiah 27:6,7

“And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.  And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.  For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.”   Jeremiah 25:11 – 14

And the fall of the last of Judah and Remnants of the other Tribes of Israel was foretold in other books of the Hebrew Scriptures:

“And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof. And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years. Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.”   II Chronicles 36:19 – 23 (Medio-Persia)

“And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.”   Jeremiah 25:12

“And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters; I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him. And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.”   Jeremiah 27:4 – 7 (Babylon)

“Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment. All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth? All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it. The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.”   Lamentations 2:14 – 17

“The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied. Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.”   Lamentations 2:21,22

“The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.”   Joel 3:6 (Greece)

So, for what purpose were all these visions in the Book of Daniel?  His interpretations were neither secret nor a revelation and NOT only privy to him.  And if they were supposed to be secrets, how was Nebuchadnezzar or anyone supposed to benefit from these revelations, then or now even during these latter days, as it is written in this book?

“But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;”   Daniel 2:28

So, according to this verse, in Daniel, we are supposed to know what shall be in the latter days.  Okay, what do we know?  What have we learned?

“Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days. And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.”   Daniel 8:22 – 27

Let’s see, Daniel was “astonished at the vision, but none understood it”.  I guess not.  It made no sense then, and it makes no sense now.

“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”   Daniel 9:25

Is he kidding me?  “Build Jerusalem unto the Messiah”!  Really?!  What Messiah and since when?  The more you delve into this book, the more it starts to sound like the “New Testament”.  I guess whoever was talking to Daniel did not know that the GOD of Israel chose Jerusalem to place HIS Holy Name there and not for any Messiah.  Another real good sign that this Book of Daniel was not written by GOD’s Prophet, but by someone who did not do his homework is that it connects GOD’s Holy City Jerusalem with a Messiah.  In no way does this reflect GOD’s WORD!

“But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:  And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:

“Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:”   Deuteronomy 12:5,6,11

“And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always”   Deuteronomy 14:23

“At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.”   Jerusalem 3:17

Building Jerusalem has always, ALWAYS been for GOD’s GLORY, which HE will not give to another.

“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”   Isaiah 42:8

Are you aware that this man Gabriel only appeared to Daniel and some other folks in the “New Testament”?  Yeah, and the story about him is not noteworthy.  Well, this man Gabriel, supposedly an Angel, appeared to Daniel (8:15 – 27 and 9:20 – 27).  Get this, Gabriel also appeared to announce the births of John the Baptist (Luke 1:8 – 20) and the birth of JC (Luke 1:26 – 38).  How ‘bout them apples?  That, too, kills this Book of Daniel for LawKeepers because they seek to know the GOD of Israel and HIS LAW to follow it!!!

Gabriel supposedly came forth to give Daniel skill and understanding.  However, as it stands, to date, the interpretation is confusing.  Not only that, but the problem here is with this man Gabriel telling folks his name -  something GOD’s Angels never did.

I would be remiss if I did not add that this man Gabriel deserves the same fate GOD put upon Hananiah:  “Thou makest this people trust in a lie”.

“Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD. So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.”   Jeremiah 28:15 – 17

And why shouldn’t Gabriel deserve the same fate?  Look at what he said:

“Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”   Daniel 9:21 – 27

Seventy (70) Weeks to end sin, huh?  “…two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed” (Daniel 8:14).  (Include Daniel 12:10 – 12 also).  Okay so, when did the counting of these days start?  Was it when the Israelites left Babylon, because it certainly could not have been before?  The Israelites who returned after the 70-year Babylonian Captivity NEVER made an end of sin!  And this business about taking seven (7) weeks to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince just does not fly.  Jerusalem is and will always be GOD’s Holy City!  HE chose it for HIMSELF, and King Solomon built a Temple for HIS Holy Name, so that Israelites and the Stranger will pray towards it to summon the Holy ONE of Israel.

“Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name. If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name: Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near; Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness; And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name: Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,”   I Kings 8:43 – 49

“And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:”   I Kings 9:3,4

And do note, there was no end of sin, no confirmation of a covenant, and these weeks and days mentioned in Daniel have no meaning, because the GOD of Israel scattered the Israelites from the Land for their abominations and for their sins after coming out of Babylonian Captivity.  Hence, there is neither rhyme nor reason for Daniel or this so-called Messiah the Prince?

More concerns that require clarification if any credence is to be given to this Book of Daniel, albeit, it has already been proven to be a work of man:

Why wasn’t Daniel joined with Haggai and Zechariah to rebuild the Temple, which GOD made known to HIS Prophet Haggai to do?

“Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied unto the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, even unto them. Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them.”   Ezra 5:1,2

“In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should be built.

“Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.”   Haggai 1:1,2,7,8

“Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.”   Zechariah 8:9

Here we can find in the Hebrew Scriptures where GOD said to rebuild HIS Temple, but where is HIS WORD or any reference that HE sent Daniel to the kings of Babylon and to the kings of Media-Persia to tell them about their fall?  And where in GOD’s WORD is it written where “Many of them that sleep in the dust of the Earth shall awake” (Daniel 12:2)?  This couldn’t be talking about the “Dry Bones” (Ezekiel 37th Chapter), as these bones are very much alive folks living in Hell who are without knowledge of GOD’s Truth.  Nice try, Daniel, but it doesn’t fit, and you know what that means.

In any case, isn’t that straight out of “New Testament” false teachings?  Believe in JC and attain everlasting life (John 3:16).  See also John 5:28 and Acts 24:15.  And those who believe this man-made religion, consider what THUS SAITH THE LORD:

“But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman, And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.”   Ezekiel 18:4 – 9

In the Book of Ezra, we can learn that Artaxerxes the king supported Ezra’s work to return to Jerusalem and to GOD’s LAW for this was the objective at hand.  (In the Book of Nehemiah, we can also learn that Nehemiah, too, was favored by Artaxerxes and was enabled to return to Jerusalem.)  But where was Daniel?

“This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him. And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king. And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king. For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him. For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel. Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time. I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee. Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand; And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem, And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem: That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem. And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God. The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem. And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house. And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily, Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much. Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons? Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them. And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not. And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.”   Ezra 7:6 – 26

But for what reason was this man Daniel so “greatly beloved”, who like to JC came “a voice from heaven” that said, “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased”?  Why would the GOD of Israel make Daniel HIS “greatly beloved”, and how is it that GOD was supposedly “well pleased” with JC, the “man” who wants the world to worship him?  Neither man did anything of significance.  Daniel did not return to build GOD’s Temple or the Walls of Jerusalem, which is what GOD wanted (Read Haggai).  And JC neither enforced GOD’s LAWS and Judgments nor followed them.  For example, JC let an adulteress go free, and when he should have been observing GOD’s Holy Sabbath, as it is written to stay in our places on the Seventh Day, he and his disciples were not only in the fields, but were plucking corn to eat (Matthew 12:1) when they should have prepared food for GOD’s Holy Sabbath of Complete REST on the Sixth Day and RESTED on the Seventh, as did the Israelites in the Wilderness.

The one thing Our GOD of Israel gave us that we should have confidence in doing is wisdom to use HIS LAW to determine the Right and Just thing for us to do, and that is to use GOD’s LAW to ascertain that which is GOD’s WORD and Commandment and that which is NOT.

“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”   Isaiah 8:20

The Book of Daniel is riddled with idolatry and confusion, and  being Israelites who know GOD’s LAW and who know of the constancy in GOD’s WORD and in HIS LAW can discern from what is Truth and what is false in this book.

“Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.”   Malachi 3:18

Therefore, this Book of Daniel does not have information or revelation of any benefit for us.  If this Daniel were a true Prophet, Our GOD of Israel would have made his revelations just as noteworthy as HE has made the revelations of all HIS True Prophets.

The Book of Daniel connects with the “New Testament” in an effort to make both appear to be of THUS SAITH THE LORD.  Nevertheless, it leaves much to be desired and only opens up another ever so confusing can of worms.

Finally, I urge everyone to read the Book of Daniel with GOD’s LAW and HIS WORD in mind and with understanding.  We have been deceived for long enough, but Our GOD will open our eyes if we will seek HIM in sincerity for understanding.  Let THUS SAITH THE LORD prove the Book of Daniel to be the work of man, for in no way does it contain GOD’s Truth, HIS WORD at the mouth of HIS Prophets, or HIS Book of the Law!
